Man Standing Beside White and Red Train
Walk in the city

The 12 Stop Story

Backpacking through Europe almost 40 years ago, my friend and I were in Nürnburg and decided it was time to get off the narrow travel track.

We decided to board the U-Bahn and head out 12 stops. We would get off and walk 12 minutes. Whatever appeared would be our destination.

We landed at a small local diner. A group of young Germans in the restaurant, unsurprisingly, wanted to know who we were and what brought us to their neighbourhood.

After we told our story, they decided to make this a night to remember. We ate, we went to their favourite haunts, we met their friends. It was an amazing experience and formed a lifetime memory.

That was the start of doing a "12 Stop", which has become central to my travel style. Its essence is to discover, allow the unexpected and invite moments of joy to create defining lifetime memories.

What Journey is Right

For You?

Your travel style may be different from trip to trip. Sometimes you crave relaxation and other times you want to be more active.

And there are plenty of travel designs that mix styles ... what excites you?

ADVENTURE

Antarctica

You like going further afield to explore the world and truly get off the beaten path. You are immersed in nature with some physical exertion or the discovery of more remote locations.

discovery

City of Arts and Sciences in Spain

You are on the move to take in a range of great local experiences. It could be history or today's events, a well-regarded restaurant in the city or an out of the way winery in the countryside.

RELAXATION

Beautiful Beach Resort

Discovery can be still. Taking a calm approach and getting rest while absorbing an amazing place. You are on a beach or cruising on the water. You are at a countryside villa or a townhouse in the city.

immersion

Cooking hotpot

You are focused and seek a specific learning experience. This travel style can be independent and is often done in groups. You want to absorb specific historical venues or deeply immerse in an aspect of local culture.
